  15.      _a_r_r_a_y_c_o_n_f_i_g is a tool for configuring a simple array of systems.  It can
  16.      perform the following tasks:
  17.  
  18.      - Generate an array configuration file (_a_r_r_a_y_d._c_o_n_f) containing an array
  19.        definition for the nodes in a single array.
  20.  
  21.      - Distribute an array configuration file to the nodes in an array and
  22.        activate array services on them.
  23.  
  24.      - Update the "array services machine identifier" on the local system or
  25.        all of the systems in the array that support them.
  26.  
  27.      The _a_r_r_a_y_c_o_n_f_i_g command itself has several command line options.  The
  28.      valid options include:
  29.  
  30.      ----aaaa _a_r_r_a_y_n_a_m_e
  31.           Sets the name of the array that is defined using the ----mmmm option.  If
  32.           this option is not specified, the name "default" is used.
  33.  
  34.      ----dddd   (Distribute) Copies the _a_r_r_a_y_d._c_o_n_f file on the current system to
  35.           each of the systems specified by the _h_o_s_t_n_a_m_e arguments, then
  36.           activates array services on those systems.
  37.  
  38.      ----iiii   (ID) Sets the "array services machine identifier" on the local
  39.           machine, or on each of the machines in the array if the ----dddd option
  40.           was also specified.  This allows the system to generate global array
  41.           session handles without contacting the array services daemon, which
  42.           improves the startup time for new array sessions.  The actual
  43.           identifier is formed from the last 15 bits of each machine's host ID
  44.           (see _h_o_s_t_i_d(1) for more information).  The change does not take
  45.           effect until the system has been rebooted.  The system must be
  46.           running at least version 6.2 of IRIX for this function to work.

  48.      ----mmmm   (Make) Generates an _a_r_r_a_y_d._c_o_n_f file containing a single array
  49.           definition.  The name of the array is taken from the ----aaaa option (if
  50.           specified).  The individual machines in the array are taken from the
  51.           _h_o_s_t_n_a_m_e arguments, which should specify network hostnames for the
  52.           machines.  At least one _h_o_s_t_n_a_m_e must be specified.  The array is
  53.           designated as the default destination for all array commands.

  55.      Typically the _a_r_r_a_y_c_o_n_f_i_g command is only run once, when the array is
  56.      first setup.  The options can be combined to initialize the array
  57.      configuration in a single step if no special requirements exist:

  76.      This sets up an array consisting of four machines (Node1-Node4).  The
  77.      name of the array is be "MyArray".  The resulting configuration file is
  78.      copied to all machines in the array, and array services are activated (or
  79.      reactivated, if already running) on each machine.  Each machine also has
  80.      its array services machine identifier set, although the change does not
  81.      take effect until each machine has been rebooted.
